Governance360 has been selected as one of just seven UK-based technology companies to join the Innovate UK Global Incubator Programme, in partnership with the Legal Innovation Zone (LIZ) at Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada.
The competitive programme, run by Innovate UK — the UK’s national innovation agency — pairs high-potential UK SMEs with world-leading incubators to support their expansion into global markets. Governance360 will join the second cohort, spending the next six months exploring the opportunity to bring its board governance and risk management platform to the Canadian market.
The programme includes two immersive market visits to Toronto, one-to-one mentorship, expert workshops, and a concluding Demo Day. Governance360 will benefit from direct access to the Legal Innovation Zone’s extensive network across Canada’s legal, financial, and governance ecosystem. The LIZ is the world’s first and largest incubator dedicated to legal technology, having supported over 170 legal tech startups from concept through to international sales.
Clive Bawden, Founder of Governance360, commented: “Being selected for this programme is a fantastic recognition of what we’re building and the problem we’re solving. Boards everywhere — whether running a charity, a housing association, or a growing business — are managing governance with a patchwork of emails, spreadsheets and cloud storage that simply wasn’t designed for the job. We’re looking forward to testing whether that challenge resonates in the Canadian market and learning from one of the world’s leading legal innovation communities.”
