Clive is an experienced Executive, Non-Executive Director and Charity Trustee and the regional Institute of Directors (IoD) Non-Executive Director of the Year 2018. After completing his chartered accountancy training with KPMG, Clive worked in industry for over 20 years (Inchcape, Saint-Gobain, Catalyst Corporate Finance and various portfolio roles typically alongside investors in early-stage organisations)
Outside of work, having previously held roles including as Trustee for Finance & Risk at leading charity the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Warwickshire Cricket Board, he is currently an Independent Director at SkateboardGB (a new national governing body created to prepare the sport for inclusion in the Tokyo Olympics), a Director of his home town League One football club and Trustee for Finance & Risk at Birmingham Museums Trust, a large regional charity.
Clive started Governance360 Group to solve problems he encountered in his own working life - a simple tool to help him work across multiple boards, help time-poor volunteers and founders set up basic governance processes and make governance more transparent and easy to manage.
Joel is Lead Architect at Governance360 Group, responsible for the development of the Governance360 app and its features.
Joel is an experienced full-stack developer with over 20 years of experience consulting on and delivering applications for businesses from a wide range of industries. He has also worked as part of a larger development team for a number of leading agencies.
Joel is very experienced in both backend and frontend development, as well as deploying applications to cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, Azure and the Apple Store/Google Play mobile app environments.
Simon spent 30 years in the investment banking industry focused on advising and raising capital for large, international industrials, building materials and residential property businesses.
During the last 10 years of his banking career he ran a global sector team at HSBC, with lead responsibility for managing some of the firms largest clients in the building materials and housebuilding industries. More recently, Simon also served as the Senior Independent Director for The Restaurant Group plc.
Since leaving the banking industry, Simon has focused on investing in and supporting the growth of five early-stage growth businesses in the UK.
Mary has extensive experience in law, charity, education and board governance.
Having qualified as a solicitor and then working in a London City Law firm, Mary transferred her skills to teaching Property and Commercial Law at the University of Law. A move to Birmingham prompted a change of career and she joined Beanstalk, a children’s literacy charity.
More recently, Mary has worked and volunteered at all levels of Academy and Charity Governance being clerk to the Trustees at a leading Grammar School including administrating the linked Foundation Charity.
In her spare time, she is a Governor at a local Primary School and a Member of a Multi-Academy Trust.
